Committee Chair Message
Boy Scouts is a program developed in 1910 by Lord Baden-Powell.
To learn more about him, go to: http://www.biographybase.com/biography/Baden_Powell_Lord_Robert.html
As Scouting celebrates it's 100th Anniversary, Boy Scout Troop 627
eagerly looks forward to the next 100 years!
Troop 627 has been around for quite some time and has gone through
many changes throughout the years. It is a small but wonderful group
of Scouts and Scouters that believe in and live by the Scout "Oath
& Law". 627 may be a small Troop but our Scouts and Scouters
have a lot of "Scout Spirit"!
In the past, adults ran the Troop with little to no input from the
Scouts. That was not what Baden-Powell intended when he developed
this program! Troop 627, with a lot of nurturing and patience from
the current adults, has backed off and are enabling the Scouts to
experience first hand what Scouting is truly about!
As the Committee Chair, I look forward to helping the Scouts of
Troop 627 achieve their goals and with this being the 100th Anniversary
of Scouting, I envision a bigger and better Troop than we have ever
seen. Please note that I cannot achieve this on my own and I honestly
state that we need dedicated parents!
Unfortunately, not many people understand the Aims of Scouting so
please click on the link for more information. http://www.boyscouttrail.com/boy-scouts/scout-aims.asp
If you as a parent and Scout, agree with the Aims of Scouting, then
627 is the Troop for you!
I encourage parents and their sons to join our Troop and discover
the great things that Scouting has to offer.
Anyone who is interested in joining Troop 627 or would just like
more information, please feel free to contact me at the email address
below.
Yours in Scouting,
Tammy Raymore
Committee Chairman
